CFD Fort Russell Days
Battery A of the 76th Field Artillery, stationed at Fort DA Russell (the precursor to FE Warren Air Force Base), fired the cannon announcing the beginning of Cheyenne Frontier Days. That was September 1897.
During the first weekend of Frontier Days, the base celebrates their history with three days of great fun, including historic home tours, military reenactments and tours of Minuteman III and Peacekeeper missile systems.
This free weekend event (food and some activities carry a price) grants civilians access to the historic base. Just make sure everyone in the car has an ID and that you have your car registration and insurance card. The base is at Interstate 25 and Randall Avenue.
